Okay, admittedly not real hard news, but Topps has recently created presidential trading cards that are going for big bucks on eBay. One of the Obama cards sold for $3,122 and one of the Clinton cards for $1,325. McCain’s is up to $1,200.
Why the high prices? You’re only going to find these cards as bonuses inside a select few of the Topps baseball card packs, some with fake signatures which are getting the high prices and some without.
But still, even Topps is amazed at how much people are paying for the cardboard with Obama’s face on it. I mean, c’mon: the signatures aren’t even real!
“A lot of times when you have a card that’s the only one in existence, they don’t even get that high,” said Clay Luraschi, Topps’ baseball brand manager.
