Supreme Court Dismisses Wiretapping Challenge

The Bush Administration’s warrantless wiretapping policies won’t be held accountable in the Supreme Court anytime soon. The Court rejected a challenge from the American Civil Liberties Union to begin a lawsuit against the secretive eavesdropping program that began after September 11. They gave no comment on their decision.

In August, Barack Obama made the comment that as president he would attack al-Qaeda targets in Pakistan, with or without Pakistani approval:

Two Numbers That Matter for March 4th

Hey everyone, here’s a guest post from our friend Graison:

He also flashed his Senate business card to the police officers, hoping to gain special treatment. The story becomes public and the Senator pledges to resign. Later, he reneges [...]

Bush Hesitant on Darfur

While on his five country tour of Africa, President Bush spoke in Rwanda about the genocide in Darfur:
Evil must be confronted
Nice work, but as long as we aren’t the ones to confront it right? Right. Bush pledged another $100 million to the crisis but is still adament about not sending US troops there. So it’s [...]

Make That 10 Straight

Senator Barack Obama decisively claimed his native state of Hawaii Tuesday night, with 76% of the vote, making it his tenth straight victory. As the final votes were tallied in Wisconsin, his lead actually jumped since when we last reported it, with a 17 point win. Wisconsin was supposed to be where the Clinton [...]
